Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Now, Pope Francis is calling us to share a journey with our neighbors – all our neighbors, not only those who live near us, look like us, speak like us or pray like us.
Our neighbors include many of the world’s most vulnerable people: migrants and refugees fleeing war, poverty and persecution, people who seek nothing more than basic needs and a path forward. Just like us, they are children of God, deserving of dignity and love. We as a church are answering the Pope’s call to encounter and walk with these migrants and refugees in support and solidarity.

United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops works to create a world where immigrants, refugees, migrants, and people on the move are treated with dignity, respect, welcome and belonging. Grounded by our belief in Jesus Christ and Catholic teaching, our Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) fulfills the commitment of the U.S. Catholic bishops to protect the life and dignity of every human. We serve and advocate for refugees, asylees, migrants, unaccompanied children, and victims of human trafficking.
Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA)
Catholic Charities USA has the privilege of serving Catholic Charities member agencies throughout the United States for over 100 years as they help the homeless, hungry, sick, and vulnerable in their communities, regardless of religious affiliation. We also coordinate national disaster relief and impact-reduction strategies, and advocate for justice in government and other social structures through policy work at our headquarters just outside of Washington, DC.
As Catholic Charities provides service to people in need and advocates for justice in social structures, we call the entire church and other people of goodwill to do the same. CCUSA Immigration and Refugee Services focuses on welcoming refugees and immigrants to our country and helping them overcome barriers and settle in their new homes and communities.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS)
As part of the universal mission of the Catholic Church, Catholic Relief Services works with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organizations, to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or nationality. We: work passionately on a global scale to contribute to a more just, peaceful and prosperous world; use innovative approaches to meet the world’s toughest humanitarian problems; are committed to the pursuit of the common good and focused on delivering sustainable solutions that create lasting impact.; are approachable and accountable to one another, our partners, donors and the people we serve; and serve those people in greatest need, inspired by their potential and opportunities for positive change.
